Come and celebrate with us; women of Penhold & District at our 10th Anniversary celebration! This year’s theme is “Sugar, Spice, Naughty & Nice.”

This event is located at Penhold Memorial Hall, 1123 Fleming Ave. on February 25, 2012 from 8:30am – 4:30pm. Early Bird Tickets are $40 and $45 after Feb 10th.

The Love of a Horse

GROVE, Vi (Valentina) 1933-2012

In memory of Jim’s mother:

Our mom and Baba has shared the best of herself, a listening ear and a love of family for the past 78 years. Vi was born in Bobly, Poland on September 18, 1933 and immigrated to Canada in 1937 with her parents and siblings. She began her education at Floating Stone School in Boyne Lake, Alberta and completed her training at an Edmonton college. Don and Vi married in May, 1961. They settled in Calgary to raise their family. Vi will be remembered as a strong, caring and remarkable woman. Vi gave of her time volunteering for various organizations over the years. Since retiring from a second career after family, Vi enjoyed spending time camping in the foothills, knitting hats for charity, spending time with the ladies on bus trips, walking in the neighbourhood and most especially spending time with her grandchildren. Vi passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on January 8, 2012. Vi will be always remembered by her children, Donna, Jim (Michele), Janice (Mitch) and her two beautiful granddaughters Madalyn and Makenna. She will also be dearly missed by her brother Alec, several relatives, dear friends and special neighbours. She was predeceased by her husband Donald, her sister Nancy, her brother Steve and her parents. A Celebration of Vi’s life will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4 Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.hffs.com . Memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation ( www.heartandstroke.ab.ca or mail: 200, 119 – 14 Street N.W., Calgary AB T2N 1Z6. Telephone 403-270-3549). The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU Unit C at the Foothills Medical Centre for their thoughtful and compassionate care of our mom.

On the Move Again- Back to Central Alberta!!!

I want to thank all of my new friends and clients that I have made this past year and a half in southern Alberta for their support and friendship. I have decided to move back to my hometown of Red Deer in central Alberta. Besides my photography work, I will be working full time as a commercial real estate assistant for Glenn Moore at Century 21 Advantage Commercial. I will be in Red Deer on January 16 and look forward to serving all of Alberta.
